Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. The entire merge happens in your browser, in a separate process (a Web Worker), and the final PDF is built in your own device's memory. You can check for yourself: open your browser's developer tools on the Network tab and merge some PDFs — no request ever carries your files.
Is there a limit on how many PDFs I can merge?
There's no limit on the number of files — just a minimum of 2. Each individual file, however, must be under 150 MB, since everything is processed in the browser's memory.
Does the order of the files matter?
Yes — it's the whole point of the tool. The final PDF's pages follow the list order exactly, top to bottom. Use the move up/down buttons on each file to arrange them before merging.
What's the maximum size per file?
150 MB per PDF. Since each file is processed entirely in the browser's memory, going above that can run the tab out of memory before it finishes; we'd rather set a clear limit than fail silently.
Do I need to create an account, install anything, or pay?
No. The tool is free, requires no sign-up, installs nothing, and adds no watermark. Just an up-to-date browser.
