Is my file uploaded to a server?
No. Reading the PDF and building the spreadsheet happen in your browser, in a separate process (Web Worker). You can check the Network tab of your browser's developer tools: no request carries your file.
How do tables become a spreadsheet?
The tool finds tables from their lines and the alignment of the text, and puts each cell into an Excel cell, keeping merged cells. Each page becomes a sheet; text outside tables is included too, one row per paragraph.
Do numbers come out as numbers or text?
As numbers whenever it's unambiguous: 1,234.56, $15.90, 12.5% and (1,000.00) become values you can add up. When a format is ambiguous, the tool follows the document's own pattern; codes with a leading zero stay as text.
Does it work with scanned PDFs?
Yes, with text recognition (OCR) turned on. It also runs on your device and takes a few seconds per page.
Can I convert several PDFs at once?
Yes, up to 50 files at a time, free. They're processed one at a time to go easy on memory, and you download each spreadsheet or all of them as a .zip.
Do I need an account, an install, or to pay?
