Is my file uploaded to a server?
No. Both reading the document and splitting it happen in your browser, in a separate process (a Web Worker), and the final files are built in your own device's memory. You can check for yourself: open your browser's developer tools on the Network tab and split a PDF — no request ever carries your file.
How do page ranges work?
In "By ranges" mode, you define one or more page spans (for example, 1 to 3 and 4 to 10) and each span becomes its own PDF file. With 2 or more parts, the download is a .zip.
What does "Every page separate" do?
It generates a 1-page PDF for every page of the original document, all downloaded together as a .zip.
What's the maximum file size?
150 MB and up to 300 pages per PDF. The whole document is read into the browser's memory; larger documents can be split into parts.
Do I need to create an account, install anything, or pay?
No. The tool is free, requires no sign-up, installs nothing, and adds no watermark. Just an up-to-date browser.
